Sand advice please!!!
Right, they have access to chicken grit regularly, but are the pieces of rock in 2ns too sharp? Its described as "sharp sand" so I would be concern it could cause lacerations if "sharp sand" is sharper than chicken grit- Umbrellabones

Sand advice please!!!
Hello! Looking for advice from anyone that uses sand in their coop or run. I want to try using sand in my run this summer and I want to make sure I buy the appropriate kind. Oh okay, so a chicken's laying cycle is specific to the individual chicken, rather than a consistent yearly cycle for all chickens. Thanks for clarifying!- Umbrellabones

I thought they only continually laid eggs because they are trying to have enough for a clutch, and if their eggs are taken every day they never get have a clutch, so they just instinctually keep laying? I've been reading up on chicken life cycles for a while and it appears that a chicken of egg...- Umbrellabones

Haha I definitely won't let them rot in there 🤢 But from what I understand, a hen would naturally only lay around 12 eggs per year if she was allowed to keep a fertilized clutch and hatch them. But seeing as there will be no baby chicks.... I do have a lot of questions that I can't seem to find...- Umbrellabones
