Our 2 little bantam roosters did an amazing job with our commercial layers. It was quite hilarious. I should have kept more of the silkie and frizzle eggs, although I was about to have cancer surgery so decided keeping only 3 was enough. So kept the frizzle ones
They looked like baby penguins when they hatched. They are so cute! They inherited the feathered legs of their dad so it is seriously hard to tell. But one seems to have a more hen like stance most of the time. Unfortunately I can’t keep them if they are boys. I just had to get rid of the 2 boys...
Can anyone help with the sex of these 6 week old mixed batch of chicks? The white and black one I am pretty sure is a boy as it developed its comb very early and also very rose coloured weeks ago. The other is much smaller and developing a lot slower with a much paler comb. The comb is however...

This is what we thought until last weeks major attitude change. It also was born with a strange shaped hip bone (seen by a vet), causing the tail to not go the right direction. She attacks anyone who walks into the pen. A few weeks ago would jump on the lap for cuddles. Never seen such an...
Can anyone confirm if this is a rooster? 25 weeks old. No egg, no crowing but has had a serious change of attitude in the last week from sweet and friendly to attacking us. It was supposedly sexed when sold to us at 5 weeks old.
There is one in Packenham and the rooster man in Wesburn. We ended up calling the breeder who said because of his age he would not be culled but sold. When they saw how huge and healthy he was, ended up keeping him for breeding purposes there. They exchanged for 3 pullets.
Funnily, went back to get 1, came back with 2 and they have been happy as anything, cuddling together as if they knew each other forever, exploring, trying out their wings and loving the cuddles from my 4 and 6 yr olds. Other hens are interested, squeaking a little, yet, mostly paying the new...
