That’s what their coops are now 😅 just dog pens covered in tarps under a loading shed, in thinking if I have to, I’ll just build runs off that.
Jeeze there is some girl on IG spreading junk about anybody reporting flocks (even their own) being a danger to all chicken keepers Nd how all tests...
Ugh. I don’t even have a run at all 😩 we have to start from scratch basically. Their current pen is NOT big enough for any length of time.
I’m going to have to figure it out I’m afraid
Hey y’all - so we’ve had a case of avian flu confirmed in Texas, Erath County - which is 182 miles from me. Makes me a bit nervous - I have a flock of 20 guineas and 16 chickens who free range. I can definitely start figuring out how to build a covered run or get them moved in to the barn. I’m...
I’m guessing 🤷🏻♀️ Very strange colors compared to my others! I have 6 pearls, 3 pied, 2 lavender. That’s my OG group. These three and then 6 babies - 2 are pearl and 4 are buff.
Yes!! The squeaky noise!!! I have typically seen the hens do it to the males… like a really really fast run with wings up and then a low low ground run and then right under the breast of another bird. It’s so funny to watch
Alright - I keep meaning to ask this -
sometimes I see my birds (typically hens ) do this weird like low ground run around another bird and then kind of nuzzle under the other Guinea? Anybody seen their bird do this?

Ok. I kind of figured this would be the answers 😂😂 this is my first time introducing keets ever. I introduced older females to a mostly all males group 2 years ago and had NO PROBLEMS introducing them. When my hen hatched her own...
So the three guineas hatched back in august are plenty big enough to be free ranging. So I’ve been letting them out with the big birds and the big birds will NOT accept them. I have 11 roughly 2-3 year old guineas (7 hens and 4 males) and the new birds are either 2 hens and 1 male or 3 hens. I...
Yep. They shouldn’t be raised together - this is also why I don’t take mine any further than how to coop. Because my first group - the males started attacking my daughter and I at the first breeding season. So I leave my guineas mostly wild except they have a dedicated predator proof coop and...
Agreeing with others. If you have a safe space where mom can keep babies that makes things easier, I let a hen hatch last year - she hatched 9 if I remember right. One died the next day - idk why. And I lost two to a rat snake when they were WAY too big for the snake to even try but 🤷🏻♀️ And...
I have dirt - it’s in an old cattle lean to. 🤷🏻♀️ I shovel it out a few times a year because they spend so little amount of time in there. Sometimes I just turn the dirt over a bit and let it do it’s thing, I like to add hay to the dirt.
I don’t have an enclosed run here. They free range. If I...
i am going to first off admit that I did not read everyone’s replies so it’s likely I’m repeating what someone else has said but, here’s my set up.
I have 14 guinea fowl who sleep in a 12x12 dog kennel. I have fencing across the top and the sides (I lost a couple to a bobcat who could get it’s...
