Thank you so much for your post. It definitely gave me hope. She is my husband's favorite hen and I know it would be hard for him to cull her. We will continue on and maybe add short times with her buddies to also give the leg some stretch.
Thank you so much for responding. She is moving in her crate. She seems to have a healthy balance between her standing and sitting down. Each day is different with her walk. One day she seems like she is putting more pressure on her foot and the next day, she seems to have a heavy limp with...
Please.... Looking for encouragement for a limping chicken. My chicken has been limping for about a month now. She got better but before I could realize that the limp was due to a high roost (high roosting bar removed), she reinjured the leg again. She is back in the cage and is eating and...
Hi Everyone,
How many days can I safely give baby aspirin for a sprained leg? How long will a sprain leg usually take to heal with rest? I have a chicken that has a limp for about 2 days. Everything has been ruled out ( disease, eggbound, deficiency, bumblefoot etc.) so we believe she jumped...
I am soo sorry to hear about your loss. It is the last thing you want to find after a long day and after trying all you can think of to secure your birds.

Can a hawk rip/tear through hardware cloth? It's only been a week of my 9 week old girls outside and a hawk came out of no where and landed on the roof of the run that is covered overhead with hardware cloth. My girls were so scared one of them got a cut on her beak (probably running and ran...
Interesting that you say they are too young because that is exactly what they are trying to do in the bedding. This is why I was looking into a dust bath for them. I don't want them trying to dust bathe in bedding that has particles of poop in it.
When will they realize that it is a dust bath and not a tray of appetizing grit? 100% River Sand only. Can they eat too much? Should I be concerned? 3 week old chicks.
I believe you. I was just saying I won't be surprised if I did it wrong. That was how I was told to do it but there have been times when I called a company the instructions would be totally different. Can you give CORID more than once OR is it a one time thing? Not planning to right now since I...
