So I have a hen that might have the same thing. (The first hens problem) She is acting very droopy and hasn't pooped in a while. She isn't straining but I just don't know what it could be. When i felt around her vent there was something there. She is only 3-months old, so too young to be...
We have a three month old black australorp that is acting sick. I just noticed it this morning, she was walking around slowly with her eyes closed and acting droopy. The big pointer was when I went out to the coop and she didn't move. We brought her inside and put her in a box. She has not yet...
We just got four new chicks in the mail today. We brought them home and noticed that three of the chicks had little spots of blood on top of their beaks. Closer observation reviled the culprit. Our little buff orp. chick. She won't stop pecking the other chick's beak/faces! Does anyone know of a...
Ok, so I have found that if I sit and talk to it, it will calm down quickly. I don't think it likes being in such a small box, but we will fix that tomorrow morning.

Ok, so we are feeding her/him a mixture of lettuce, peas, green beans, cheerios and oatmeal (both moistened) It has a dish of water and a heating pad set on low. We should have a bigger box for it by tomorrow.
I will try to post pics as soon as possible.
So we came into possession of a very cold and hungry baby goose. (VERY long story short, it was abandoned.) We have some chick food so we fed it that, but I know this isn't what we should feed them. Does anyone know of a substitute? Example: green beans, lettuce, spinach, dandelion greens...
Help! My dad just came home with a baby duck! So here's the story... My dad was walking along the river and he noticed a little baby duck running along (chasing some fishermen). There was no other ducks in sight all along the river, and the poor thing was obviously tired and shivering. So he...
I don't keep records of my chicks. If you just have a backyard flock that you just use for eggs, there should be no reason to. But if you are planning on breeding or showing your birds, you will probably want to keep some kind of record.
