I am completely new to chickens so I am coming for advise. i got my chicks three weeks ago and they were two and three weeks old then. I was wondering if there is any kind of log book or records that I should be keeping up with? I only have seven chicks and they are going to be for eggs and not meat. I am hoping that I have all girls but I am not sure at this point. Anything you keep records of on your backyard flock? Thanks

I don't keep records of my chicks. If you just have a backyard flock that you just use for eggs, there should be no reason to. But if you are planning on breeding or showing your birds, you will probably want to keep some kind of record.

The only "records" I keep is when the breeder said the last chick hatched and when I bought them and that is in my phone's calendar.
And that is so I know how old they are cause for week to week I am always losing track, time flies haha.
