I have a few that are rocking the eggs so we will see how many will hatch. What color eggs will come out. Brown or white.

Here I go for the first time.

My eggs are still doing good. They are really hard to candle. I don't have any bad smells coming out of them, so I will just let them go until the end. They will go into lock down on the 1ST.

Here I go for the first time.

Well, I candle 2 of the eggs today just to see what was going on and I could see the black spot. So far so good!:

Here I go for the first time.

This is our first time in our homemade Bator. We are doing a small hatch with 16 eggs to see how it will all work out. I have a Brown leghorn rooster and RIR hens. Don't know what they will look like, but I bet they will look a lot like chickens. Wish me luck.

Giving eggs to a Youth House?

I want to be able to give eggs to a youth house just down the road for me, they said all the things that they eat have to be tested. To raise and sell chicks and eggs in a store what or who would I need to contact to have the hens tested? Thanks

What to do with extra pheasant eggs?

Find a youth home, Homeless shelter a donate the eggs to them to eat. 700 HUNDRED eggs is a lot of meals for someone that doesn't have anything else to eat. Sounds like a good problem to have. Good Luck

Started Building my Coop on Oregon Coast

Looks very good. I like to use re-stuff also. The only thing I saw that I would change is the floor vents. When it rains the water will run in from the top half. It looks like you have a floor under them. Just a thought.

What's good cheap bedding for a 16ftx8ft coop (shed)???

I have a friend that has a cabinet shop, and I bring him empty barrels and he fills them up with his shavings from making the doors. They have to get rid of it, so most of the time they just burn it. I will bring him eggs when I need some, most of the time enough for his crew also. Most of time...

    RIR Broody Hen

Well we have been raising these rir for over a year now and they have been great. We started out with 25 4-H day old chicks(rir). We sold 5 at the 4-h show, gave 5 to a friend that wanted to start raising chickens and had 2 deaths. We started talking about doing the chick-chain again and decided...
