Has anyone used NatureServe layer pellets? My tractor supply has it in stock but never heard of it. Just wondering how it would be to use.

So ones that r about 8 weeks can have regular grit? I was afraid it was to large if grit.

Mine r about 8 weeks and do look like mini me’s of their larger self but some still have naked places on their necks and backs. Mostly my australorp.

How do you know how much grit to make available for young chickens?

Thanks for the comments We have been so busy trying to get their coop built that we haven't mowed yet this spring and the grass is knee high in places and is seeding. I'll have to take a weed eater to it in places and was think that is what I would give them.

I have 8 week old chicks and getting ready to mow my grass for the first time. They have never had anything but starter/grower to eat? Can I give them some of the grass clippings and do I need to also get them grit to go with it?

Hi, BarnGems, I'm in Letcher County and just got 27 chicks about 2 weeks ago. Haven't had chickens since I was a young girl. Excited to raise these and let my grandson's enjoy helping me with them.
