Any standard size egg laying breed will work. Bonus points for fancy colors and calm demeanor. I only have room for 3 (girls) so I can't get straight run chicks and hatcheries have minimum orders. Plus brooding only 3 seems unfair to the chicks at this time of year. This leaves me stuck waiting...
Absolutely love these English Orpingtons! I need hens, not roos, so is my only option to order from a hatchery? Seems like breeders only offer straight run. Any chance of buying pullets this time of year?

Just got an Eglu Go with standard run set up. It's not easy to find chickens in the middle of winter, but I'm working on it! Anyway, I'm debating 2 hens vs 3. Anyone have one and have a recommendation?
