    Day 7 Candling 41 Eggs

In that case I would say if the poop is dry and not obstructing your view, just leave it.

    Abnormal chicken poop

If you have antibiotics maybe give some to your chicken? Seems like some sort of infection. No blood so far is good.

Yes, you can carefully wipe or flake poop off if you are squeamish. Do not wash the eggs, you will disturb the coating that protects them from bacteria Edit: Alternatively, maybe wear gloves. If the poop isn't excessive you will harm the eggs by removing it.

    BYC members in Massachusetts?

Right. My (5) hatchery chicks are coming this week (hopefully tomorrow). I would certainly not be keeping one or two chicks alone! These chicks would be in addition to the hatchery ones. I realize I didnt make that clear. I will edit the reply.

    BYC members in Massachusetts?

Alternatively, would anyone be willing to take some chicks off me if I just go to the farm and home and buy the 4 minimum? I really only have space for ***7 chicks total, and my 5 from the hatchery are arriving this week. *** this portion was edited for clarity

Obviously I would be willing to pay for the chicks, but I do not have a car so any location would ideally be accessible-ish from public transit.

Cambridge, ma- Looking for LAVENDERS, COLORFUL EGG LAYERS, pretty birds. Chicks

I know this is a long shot but is anyone near Boston selling chicks? I would LOVE some lavenders. I will be getting some hatchery chicks but they didnt have lavenders and i was heartbroken. I would also be ok with some pretty Easter eggers or other colorful egg layers, as long as they seem to...

rehoming two older hens in central IL

I am planning on visiting Illinois in a few weeks (I live in Massachusetts for school, my mom takes care of the chickens), so if I could find a home (or soup pot) for the bully, I could probably drive the cochin up to chicago and bring her to you. She (the cochin) is my favorite chicken ever and...

rehoming two older hens in central IL

Hi! I have a couple older hens who need rehoming (not urgently): a white cochin and a buff brahma. the cochin is a sweetheart (i have picked her up and pet her all her life) while the brahma can be a bit of a bully. The cochin does not reliably lay eggs anymore but the brahma does lay eggs...
