    I am so upset-- I had a chicken killed (head eaten -- the body intact) and so I moved my chickens into what I thought was a completely sealed room--when I say there are cracks I mean like 1/4" It was very secure --or so i thought-i opened the coop to discover almost all of my chickens...

    do the eggs taste funy when preserved in hydrated lime

    I am considering storing the excess eggs we get in the hydrated lime and have done a lot of research but what I don't seem to find are peoples results? Do they taste funny or does the bloom protect the egg from tasting like lime? Please share your results Thanks

I just put two new young wheaten americaunas in a pen outside with my older chickens so they can get a look see and get used to them before I join them into the coop--they flew over and are running around on my 70 acres!     HELP! What did I do wrong--I set 9 eggs ---followed instructions to the T (in my homemade incubator) --they all hatched but I got SIX roosters? I am about to try some araucana eggs and if there is anything I need to know or correct please let me know.... thanks nervous chicken mama
