    Oatmeal, cucumber peelings, okra, dried cat food, dried dog food. leftovers in fridge, bugs (their favorite) apples, pears (fallen from trees), chewed gum.

    Put 35 chicks out of 41 eggs into brooder a few minutes ago, 34 black ones, one white one. Monitoring temperature of brooder and incubator with more peeps hatching. Chicks stopped yelling once they had a drink and I spoke with them. Brooder at 99.

    From what I know of chickens, if they can find a way to hurt themselves that seems impossible, they do. Been raising chickens 50 years plus. Started helping Grandma with her 100 RIR each spring.

    Yes, thinking of it, I have another rooster, a Polish. All my chickens free-range together, devouring June bugs as I speak.

    Thanks. Quit my first batch of meal worms when I got sick. It seemed so hard following the directions of others. Now I'm better and found your directions, which are simple and straightforward. Will order 1,000 and start again. Thanks again.
