We have a young female Mallard hatched last September. We want to get her a friend to swim with next month because she's lonely with just chickens. I don't know much about duck breeds. Domestic Duck Identification
My little mallard duckling who was given to us by an acquaintance is now about a month old. I was reading that domestic ducks in WA state must be marked by pinioning, removing a toe, a tattoo or a fused metal leg band. I won't pinion or remove a toe. Injured Wild Duckling
UPDATE: Sad news :-( I called the wildlife center to see how the duckling was doing. It turns out she had a broken jaw that was unable to be set and she had to be euthanized. I felt so bad.- violinmom07

Hi, My neighbor knows I have chickens and a duck, so she brought me a duckling she found on the road. She is fully feathered, but small. I'm guessing 12 weeks? Her bottom bill is offset from the top.
