    Recipes for a Dehydrator

I would love to learn more about the everyday things that you can dehydrate. Also, how do you use them? Do you rehydrate them before using? I know it's alot of questions but I'm new to this. I also just read about oven canning in "Countryside" magazine. Has anyone every done this?

what to do with too much squash

Didn't read all the posts yet but I slice my zucchini about 1/4" or so thick put in a ziplock bag and add italian dressing and let marinade. Then cook it on the grill. It's absolutely delicious. Hubby and I eat a whole large zucchini ourselves this way. You gotta give it a try! Sandra

Having a dull canning moment..is it really worth it??

I would say it is definitely worth it. 1. You know what you're eating and 2. What if things get bad and you couldn't buy beans? There is alway those possibilities with the crazy weather we've been having. It's nice to know that if times get tough your family wouldn't go hungry.

Momagain1, your beans look great. Did you use dried beans? If so, how do you prepare them? I have some dried great northern beans I'd like to can. Thanks, Sandra

I haven't canned chicken yet, but plan to do so this week. I've canned ham and beef and it gets so tender and is so nice to have when you need a quick meal. I've made broth using the chicken feet and it gets gel-like. It's very good for your joints as it is a natural glucosamine. It just looks...
