    Diamond Dove Mating?

    I have two doves and discovered their sex only by the mating ritual. My female wants nothing to do with my male and he is tearing up her feathers something awful. Is she really a female? Could they be confused? lol or is this normal and what do I do? I have separated them to give her a break but...
