I love the Pumpkin, the Butcher is my daughter's. I call it the owl magnet! That white just stands out a little too much.

Thanks, all. I'm not sure on the bloodline of the Pumpkin. The other is a Butcher.

    The Flock has arrived!!!!

Frost Grey, I believe. Although, it's hard to say anything is pure anything anymore. Thanks!

    The Flock has arrived!!!!

Multiple housing. The roos are kept separated and have limited access to the hens. Looking forward to having babies on the yard. Roos are all less than 3 years and the hens are 2. The roos and 2 of the hens are from a family friend and I picked up the other hens in East Texas.

Thanks, toc! 4 roosters and 5 hens, Max. I have a feeling the number will be increasing soon. Seems rather addictive!

All was well...then the neighbors got a dog

Quote: Same case here in North Texas. I'm in the country and it's generally understood that if your dog goes on someone's property and causes damage it's going to get shot. The only courtesy I may give is that the first load may be rocksalt instead of buckshot. Talk to the neighbor...

    North Texas Newbie!!!!

I've been on the site a few times and decided to become part of the community. My daughters and I will be starting our venture into chicken raising this coming Spring. Notice I didn't mention the wife.........she's not a fan of the fowl. I look forward to sharing my experiences with all of you.
