    Pros/Cons of protruding nest boxes

We have built 2 coops and both have outside nest boxes. The only problem I have incountered is leaking during heavy rain. I fixed this on the first with a awning over the hinge crack, this is where the water was leaking. This solved the problem with next coop. I changed the hinging point and...

    Dog walker gone wild.

Quote: Call the cops. File a report. This is the only way you can get compensitation for your loss. next time use the lab for batting pratice. Three or four good homerun shots to the head will stop futher attacks. You will more than likely need a police report before you can file a claim...

    Posting Pictures

Is there a way to post more than one picture without haveing to post each picture seperately. I would like to post several pictures of our new coop progress to my page. It takes quite a long time posting them one at a time. Is there a way to post the whole file. About 15 pictures.

    Suspicious construction sand

If your chicks are young, under 4 weeks, it will work for grit. If they are older you might need to suppliment. If they have access to the soil, ie dirt, gravel and such from your yard they will most likely get enough grit. Our chicks roam over our pen, it has a lot of gravel and grass and we...

    Roosting outside

Did you lock them in the coop or the run? If you want them to roost in the coop, lock them inside for a couple days or so.

    Going in the coop!!!!

Have you shut them in the coop for a couple days? If you have not locked them inside they don't know its home. It takes them a few days to attach to the coop. If you have not, leave them inside for a couple days and that should do the trick.

I need some advice regarding a neighbor's dog

I'm with anyone who says "shoot it". Get you a nice 410 gauge shootgun and shoot the dog. If you get caught discharging a firearm in city limits, pay the fine. If its the stray, they your neighbor will be happy, if not she will be sad. Better her than you.

Hen's body found - what did this?

Living in the country like you do, it could be many things. I have heard all kinda stories about how this varmit eats this way and that varmit eats this way. Most of the time, if your chick is just killed, its someone's dog. Most wild varmits will at least eat parts, dogs just kill.
