    A shell of a problem

I have been having the same problem. I have found that if there is a yacky mess like the picture, I look around the yard where the chickens roam. I have found the rest of the egg in odd places. Some days I get very soft shell eggs or broken one, then I will get a few hard shell ones. Added high...

    Is my coop/run suitable??

Each bird needs about 3 sq feet of floor space, based on my math you have enough space for 10 full size birds. 4' x 8' = 32' 3/32 =10.666 With 10 birds in that coop it will be very hot during the summers at night. I am in Pensacola FL, so I know how are summer are here. Don't forget that...

    Unnatural Hen Aggression, sos!

I would suggest putting a mirror in with Kevin. I have two chickens and they found a mirror I have left outside. To my surprise they spend hours sitting in front of the mirror. I even moved it to see if it was the mirror or location. It was the mirror they sit for hours in front of it in the new...

    Am I missing something here???

Not sure of the difference of a Rock-Cornish vs a Cornish-Rock. I would guess that the first name would be the bread that the chicken would get the most characteristic from. My dad and I raised 25 I think they were the CornishX. They were a quiet bird and eat well before I returned home we...

Trying to design and build my own chicken coop

Here is a picture of the coop I build. It is 4 x 4 x 4 and is 24" off the ground. I used studs and bead board with a corrugated plastic roof. Its my first time I built any thing like this. I put a roost in my coop but they like resting on the floor. I have two chickens right now and have found...
