Flooring for my Concrete Chicken Coop?

Thank you so much for your reply. After reading all of the replies, I think I will choose shavings over hay on the plain concrete floor.

Flooring for my Concrete Chicken Coop?

Thank you for your response, and I didn't know that hay was better.

Flooring for my Concrete Chicken Coop?

We have a concrete old "milk house" for our chickens. Our past tenant had put carpeting down which will be disposed of very soon. Is it necessary to lay linoleum, etc., down? Also, we have shavings we put on the floor. Is hay better?

My rooster scares me to death!

Thank you for your post! My broomstick does quite well at keeping him at bay.

No feathers ruffled here. I'm sorry if I came on strong. The "Good Post" icon was for you, not me.

Thank you for wishing me Good luck! My Silky is grey in color...and the smallest in the flock.

My rooster scares me to death!

I'm not familiar with the term, "culled". BTW...I don't have any kids running around where the chickens and rooster are. My kids are grown.

LOL! Thanks for the humor. I'm feeling much better!

My rooster scares me to death!

I understand your point. The rooster came with the 12 hens. One of our tenants (living in a cabin in the country) was moving to the city. She couldn't take the hens and rooster with her...so we ended up with them. I'm such an animal lover that I couldn't bare to eat Mr. Rooster.

Our chickens are egg-laying only. No chicks will be born. We gather the eggs each and every day.

Yes, it does help! Thank you! I had heard about pouring a bucket of water on him, but not a spray bottle.
