Atlanta, GA-Free Silkie and Buff Orpington Roos 4 months old

I have 4 roosters in need of homes. One buff Orpington rooster, already doing a great job protecting the flock, one buff silkie and two splash silkie roosters. They are around four months old, all but one splash silkie is crowing. Let me know if you are interested or have ideas of where they can...

Puffed, Sick Looking Chicken, Green and Yellow Poop

I appreciate your attempt to help! It's not a bad idea to get her checked out and/or learn to do it myself. I'm 3.5 years into chickening with no end in sight, so I've got to learn! I'm thankful for this forum!

Puffed, Sick Looking Chicken, Green and Yellow Poop

We just lost Marky Mark I just got all set up with some food in a syringe to try to drip along her beak. Her comb had suddenly gotten a lot paler over the last few hours and she was sitting a lot more. I was getting her all set up when she suddenly repositioned and flipped on her side. I sat...

Puffed, Sick Looking Chicken, Green and Yellow Poop

Corid is medicine to treat cocci, which is an illness that can hit chicks and young chickens, typically not older birds. It has to be treated quickly. If you given your chickens medicated feed there is already medication to help prevent that.

Thanks for the response! Her crop has just been empty, which shows she hasn't been eating. I doubt sour crop, we have had an instance of that in the past. We have 5 other hens her age, 2 are laying, the rest haven't started. We have thre other hens, 2 are 2.5 yo and one is 3.5. The 3.5 hasn't...

Puffed, Sick Looking Chicken, Green and Yellow Poop

Below are pictures of Marky Mark and her poo. The dark towel was yesterday, the light one is today. Not much poop so far today, all of it was been watery and white with some green. I also meant to mention her crop seems fine, although never very full since she isn't eating much. Her abdomen...

Puffed, Sick Looking Chicken, Green and Yellow Poop

I was separate her and bring her inside if possible. It's a little chilly out where I am (Georgia) and I think a little warmth and TLC can go a long way. If you have a dropper start with water in the dropper, just let it run along her beak, don't force it in. You can easily aspirate a chicken if...

Puffed, Sick Looking Chicken, Green and Yellow Poop

Happy new year! I unfortunately have had my golden laced wydandotte isolated in a crate for the last 48 hours. I noticed her spending a lot of time in the nest box and hanging out in the corner of the run last week. She is 7.5 months old had has not started laying yet, so I was thinking she...

These tiny bugs are everywhere! What are they?

Thank you for this info! I think I got a little overzealous thinking we were dealing with a bad chicken bug infestation. We have been wanting to find an Eco-friendly preventative measure, so that's also very helpful!

These tiny bugs are everywhere! What are they?

Thanks for the feedback! Here are some closer up pictures I took today. The one in the shadow is more white, the ones in the sun looked more greenish. I will try to get more pictures tomorrow if these aren't any more help. We try to keep the coop, run, etc. as clean as possible and try to...

These tiny bugs are everywhere! What are they?

I didn't notice any wings, but they might still be babies. I was wondering about termites as well, but I don't think they look like termites. Since we noticed them first all over the wood on the run I just assumed they were chicken pest related, but maybe they aren't. I believe mites are more...

These tiny bugs are everywhere! What are they?

These bugs seemed to pop up overnight, my hub noticed them over the weekend. What are they and how do we get rid of them? We have dealt with chicken lice before on the birds, but having them ALL OVER the run is new. Help!
