These tiny bugs are everywhere! What are they?

If those bugs were a threat to your chickens, they would be either in residence on your birds or in residence deep in the cracks and crevices of your coop.

I learned the hard way about using insecticides around chickens. It's a big NO to use regular insecticides anywhere where your chickens are roaming. Some pesticide treatments to rid chickens of lice and mites are also safe to use to treat your premises. Permethrin is one of them, and I can't say enough good things about Elector PSP which is a biological control and non-toxic to treat both chickens and premises.

But you are overlooking the best biological and safe premise insect control there is, and it's free, safe, convenient, and you don't even need to go anywhere to obtain it. Chickens! Turn your flock loose, and watch those bugs get eliminated pronto!

Thank you for this info! I think I got a little overzealous thinking we were dealing with a bad chicken bug infestation. We have been wanting to find an Eco-friendly preventative measure, so that's also very helpful!

There's all kinds of 'bugs' everywhere........very few are a threat to chickens.
Usually it's the other way around!

Yeah, we are lucky ones indeed to have our very own pest exterminators on retainer! I turned mine loose today on a perfectly hideous infestation of cut worms in my garden.

I have been digging out old spent soil in my raised beds, getting a jump on spring planting, when my shovel unearthed swarms of rice-sized cut worms. Not a problem! I turned my chickens loose on them, and they eliminated the entire hatch! My spring seedlings will be safe now, thanks to my team of avian exterminators!

There are many pest exterminators who helps in removing all these bugs without harming the pets at home. Last month my friend has hired the exterminator Davis service for this work. And after that he never complained about the bugs in his backyard. The team took care of the pets at home too while spraying the chemicals. I think they can help you too.

Here are some of the lice that chickens get:

I agree that they are not an issue, they appear to be thrips or aphids from the green coloration. Lice will be gray or whitish not green. Your flock will love those for a snack.
