    Male or Female?

Im gonna say Cock BUT that almost spade tail is a sign of Hen...spalding does throw a kink in there and Im not very knowledgeable on those. IQbirdtesting does dna for 10 bucks if you have any question. I have a white and silver pied and paid for the test (tho right after, an experienced owner...

Does the shape of tail feathers help determine sex of peafowl?

Just wanted to come back for an update. Apparantly some info given about tail feathers is pretty accurate. Both my White and Silver Pied Peas are Cocks :) . I cant wait til their full trains come in, tho I know with their age it will be a couple of years.

Please, help me identify peafowl gender?

I agree that the first is a Cock. The 'rusty' flight feathers is an easy way to tell Cock from Hen as well as.. notice how the difference in the barring across them. Cocks will have more barring while Hens will be darker with less barring. The second pic is your Hen :) CONGRATS

So gonna sound gross but do you have a pic of the poo? It could be respiratory. When you say sounds like a cat do you mean when squaking or her breathing sounds sometimes like a cat..like the purring? Could it be describeed as a low gurgling?

Does the shape of tail feathers help determine sex of peafowl?

So I have been reading quite a bit and I read a few post that said before the males get their long train, the shape of their tail display can help determine the sex of peafowl. If the tail display create the shape of a half moon or like a sideways C the fowl is a hen and if the shape of tail...

New mom and so many possibilities... idk what kind of peachic I have

I was coming back to show ya what I have found. Those are beautiful btw. On Leggs peafowl site in explaining how the silver pied came to be, this is what they said.... The mantel or top of the shoulders appear silver as the peacocks mature. The peahens are the same pattern as the males except...

New mom and so many possibilities... idk what kind of peachic I have

I am so new that I cant say wrong or right lol. I havent read about the silver coming at different times so will have to look into that. What led me to a guess at boy was that it went from zero barring to having barred feathers (I read that females lose barring while males gain it) and it...
