Hi! This is my first time with mosaic chicks, they're almost 3 weeks old. Two already has shoulder and tail feathers, one is still mostly fluffy down except the wings. I wondered if it means the fluffy one is a cockerel or if it's not a reliable way for sexing?

Hi! Thank you for the tip, thought I want to keep the membrane from drying when I have to remove some part of the shell when assisting, rather than really to see veins.
Hi! Since my current hatch seems to struggle a bit and that I may have to assist more than usual, what can I use to keep membrane from drying? I often see coconut oil, neosporin and vaseline being recommended, but I sadly don't have any of those and I live in the middle of nowhere without a car...
Actually had to assist him, the membrane was starting to dry and get stuck on his face (I had to soak wet and use a tweezer). Happy to say, his yolk was absorbed and there was no blood when I helped him out. Happy healthy baby ^_^ Thank you everyone!

Hi! I have a chick that externally pipped since half a day, but a the middle top of its egg and no progress since then. I never had a chick pipping at that place. Should I let him do it himself or I should assist?
