i just moved my chicks from the brooder box to thier coop they are between 9 and 10 weeks old i think cant exactly remember. how long before they start using the roost? do i need to build a ramp? they can jump higher than the roosts are.
thanks i have lots of wire i have been collecting the last couple of years for duck blinds but it never was used but going to a better use now i think.
yea i was going to dry them first. and have no acess to swamp cooler straw in this area to humid for those to be used so nobody stocks them but a good idea.
I swear i can watch my chicks grow thier feathers! they have feathered out on thier breast alot today. the more they feather out the more they fight . is this normal?
I am new to chickens and am currently building a coop of my own plans and info from this site. I have 6 chicks and i have built or am building a 4' by8' coop with a protruding nesting box. I have a little over a hundred dollars in it right now i am getting some windows this week from a scrapes...
they are still in the brooder with the lamp it has been getting about 70 outside during the day. but kinda cool a night but they seem to stay nice and warm. they are in my garage so it is fairly warm. they have been fighting alot is this normal?
