2 week old chicks

During their third week of life, they should have 24/7 access to 85 degrees F, which means the warmest part of their brooder should be that temp. Drop the temp 5 deg per week after that until they are fully feathered and able to withstand your local prevailing temps. That's usually not sooner than 6 weeks for most breeds. Yours are still brooder babies for now.

Our layers are 4 weeks old, and they're almost at regular house temps. We took away the heat lamp, but we keep the vent in the bathroom (where the brooder is) open more than normal, so they get a little extra heat. We'll move them outside by 6 weeks, but we'll give them a heat lamp as needed, depending on the weather. They'll definitely need a lamp at night for a little while.

Our meat birds have been in the coop since they were 2 weeks old. We have a heat lamp out there, and they stay nice and warm. This weekend has been extra cold - almost freezing - so we added a second lamp just to be safe. They're almost 3 weeks old now.

they are still in the brooder with the lamp it has been getting about 70 outside during the day. but kinda cool a night but they seem to stay nice and warm. they are in my garage so it is fairly warm. they have been fighting alot is this normal?

They are probably not fighting, necessarily. Even as chicks that young they will compete a bit to be the top bird in the flock. They are doing a little sparring is all. If they make each other bleed then I would separate a few of them out. Do you have plenty of space in your brooder? If not, it might cause them to be a bit more aggressive too.
