    Thanks, Stiggy & Teila, that's what I was thinking she might be doing, glad to know sometimes hens just like to hang out for a bit after laying but it doesn't mean anything. Good idea to test her with some dud eggs first!

    Post your FIRST EGG pics!

    Here it is! Our first egg from the lovely lady Astrud (black star) in the background. This was day one...a few days later and one turned into: Yay! We've since gotten 6/6 a few times. Pretty cool. (and that large light blue one from the EE was a double yolk, that's why it is so big)

    How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

    That's interesting and sounds about right. We have 6 for a family of four and are adding 2 more pullets next week. Every once in a while we'll get 6/6 but 4/6 (with the occasional 3/6 day thrown in) seems to happen more. If we had 8 and averaged 5/8 that would be ideal for our family's needs...
