Don't know what else to do

I provide oyster shell at all times. I am guessing it has been since she got sick. We have 6 white egg layers and I haven’t gotten 6 in quite awhile.

Don't know what else to do

She is fed Scratch and Peck crumbles and fermented S&P whole grains. I make fodder a couple times a week with S&P sprouting barley. Water changed daily. They do not free range as we have many predators. I have not wormed them.

Don't know what else to do

I have a 13 month old Ancona hen who has been sick for almost two weeks. Her comb is pale and flopped over, she is puffed up and isolating herself. I put Corid in the only source of water for 7 days and saw zero improvement. I put Nutridrench in the water and nothing. I now have electrolytes...

    Sick chicken

She is a year old. Hard to tell if she has been laying recently as I have 6 white egg layers and have gotten 4 or 5 the past few days. She is very skittish so I will try to catch her when my son comes home. We are feeding her Scratch and Peck crumbles and whole grain fermented feed daily. No...

    Sick chicken

Hi all - we went away for one night and came back to one of our hens looking like this. She’s eating but definitely not feeling well. Coccidious? If so, do I treat the whole flock? Could she have been bullied? Our Wyandottes can be mean. The flock is a year old and does not free range bc of...

    Angry bird

Tha thank you so much for your response. I was fearful this would be the response, but in my gut I knew it was where we were headed. She’s miserable and I’m definitely miserable. Thank you for taking the time to give such a thorough response. Much appreciated.

    Angry bird

I have 15 27-week old chickens. I purchased them as 2 day old females from a hatchery. One of these birds has completely flipped out over the last two weeks. She is an Ancona. Any person who enters the run she attacks. We have tried picking her up and carrying her around, which only infuriates...

    Bunching at bedtime

Hi! New to chickens. I have 15 7 week old chicks. They have been out in the coop for three weeks, in the run for the past 10 days. Every night when we go to secure the coop, they are bunched in one corner of the coop. Never during the day, only in the late evening. Temps are mid to high 70’s...

What breed and is it a roo?

Hi all. Six week old chicks. Any ideas what breed this is? I have 3 of them. One has a different tail forming and I’m a little concerned that it isn’t a hen. Thoughts?

Month old chick staying still, fluffed up

She is still doing better but not back to the level her nest mates are. BUT - she’s drinking and eating (not a lot). She will still hide under or by the heater plate. I’m hoping day 3 of undiluted Corid will help.

Month old chick staying still, fluffed up

Thank you, thank you for taking the time and giving very specific Instructions. It would be so easy for a seasoned person such as yourself to blow this off or to tell me to search the archives. I was in a panic bc my chick wasn’t doing well. You took the time to HELP ME. Thank you for your...

Month old chick staying still, fluffed up

She is doing better!!! The undiluted Corrid must have really helped. I also gave her the medicated water. She’s out from underneath the plate and roosting with friends. I’m going to keep a close eye on her.

Month old chick staying still, fluffed up

Hi - thanks for responding. We live in Virginia. Weather has been weird the last week or so. Very hot (90’s) then tons of rain. I moved the chicks to our coop last week - we don’t have older hens. They still have their heater plate. A fan is on to circulate air. The coop is in the shade so does...
