    I have 6 hens, 3 Rhode Island Reds, and 3 Australorps. One of the Australorps keeps escaping from the chicken pen, and is hiding in the barn.     Thanks! I tohught it should be fine, with all the ants and bugs on my lil acre of yard they roam. I just wanted to make sure I was feeding them enough.

    I do have chicken feed, I just do not know if 2 pounds a day is too much or not enough. Plus they get vegetable scraps, bread, and anything else that gets thrown into their pen.

    peculiar acting chicken

    I just started having chickens, and one of them spends most of the day avoiding the other two, and lays under a short tree with very low branches, or under the camper. Is this normal? She gets out and pecks around the yard with the others some, but stays laying in a dark place most of the day.

    I just got 3 8 week old chickens, and I am going to get 5 more tomorrow. I have been throwing feed on an old barrel top, is there something wrong with that, and do i need a feeder? and with my 8 chickens, would a 1 gallon waterer be good for the chickens?
