Hen going broody with fertile eggs only a few months after her first clutch

I don’t mind letting her hatch them, my birds are fairly self sufficient as my adults are free range, I mostly just check on them and make sure they get fed and watered daily. They nest wherever they please for the most part. She’s a good mama. I was just wanting to know if it was something to...

I don’t mind it at all, I was just wondering if it was something I should be concerned about

Hen going broody with fertile eggs only a few months after her first clutch

Hoping this is the right forum, but I have a Buff Orpington hen, she’s about 3 years old, and she had her first batch of babies ever back in April. She disappeared last night and I found her on another nest. At least a few of the eggs in question are fertile, I cracked one open and it had that...

Anyone have any experience with egg laying in Orpington crosses?

If you’ve seen my latest post, you’d know about my Orpington x Polish crosses that just hatched. Does anyone know around how many eggs this cross would produce a year? If not this specific cross, if anyone has experience with any other Orpington cross, it would be greatly appreciated if you told...

A couple of the eggs underneath my broody hen look much less developed than the others, but are still moving around and continuously growing.

Maybe 48 hours at the most? And yes she did for the most part. the last one passed due to her not sitting, I tried to intervene but it was too late. But like I said, I call 9/10 a win.

Update: 9/10 chicks hatched and seem healthy, the 10th unfortunately passed away. I’d call 9/10 a win, however!

Thanks everyone for your input, I appreciate it. I candles the eggs one last time because even the latest developed ones should only be on day 17. They still look healthy and moving. I am going to leave them alone from now on, as I have only been checking them to make sure none had died/none...

My buff Orpington hen went broody and I was excited to see that her eggs were fertile this time, and I have been candling the eggs every two days. I believe a majority of them are on day 15 or 16. However, when I candled them this morning, I noticed that a couple of them almost seem to be behind...
