Our 12 hatched chicks only lived 5 days! They looked so healthy to begin with, but never ate. They didn't drink unless we used a syringe. Their beaks were dipped several times but they never caught on. This is our 1st hatched batch, but we have raised many chicks over the years.
We lost 12 chicks that we hatched in our new incubator. We are 1st timers on hatching, but not chicks. Within 5 days, all died. They wouldn't drink on their own, even though we dipped their beaks several times. They didn't eat at all. The funny thing is they were fine and lively to begin with...
We live in NW North Carolina and the weather has been crazy as everywhere. We are just barely into spring with average temps of 60-65 degrees but they are still inside the house. We have their temp set at 85 degrees at this time. Sorry, no poop pic. But it is runny and brown.
