Thanks. one of them was alive last night and if I'd just filled up all the pans on the bottom of the Hova bator, i think he would've made it. He was peeping last night before I went to bed. UGH.
they were at day 22 and hadn't absorbed their yolks yet. I guess temp was prob too low in Brinsea that broke yesterday, and humidity was definitely too low in their new bator we put them in last night. I'm so sad.
oh god! that's amazing they came out! I'm worried because I have not heard a single peep all day. did you still hear peeping just before they started to pip?
about 30 minutes, but the rest of the day was spent trying to keep them warm in sm bathroom with heatlamp, steam humidifier while I worked on Brinsea. I eventually got it to work, but it had to be monitored and adjusted every 5 minutes by my daughter while I ran out to get the only replacement I...
I posted about this earlier. I transferred to new bator and they were peeping in their shells last night, but no peeping today at all. Someone said that they might stop peeping while pipping, but so far no pips, either. And no wobbling.
Today is day 22. How long should I wait before giving up...
Thank you for that information about pipping- I haven't seen any holes or chips yet but I'll wait and see what happens while chewing off my fingernails.
THANK YOU! We got them into the new incubator last night after we got the temp stabilized. I'm going to give them a few days- I never would've thought we could get so attached. I started to panic after reading things here like "lockdown" and "...open the incubator could kill the chicks..."
I'm new to incubating and chickens but knew to keep the eggs warm and in humid environment in small bathroom with heat lamp adjusted using thermometer and hot mist humidifier- kept eggs at 101 until I got incubator working again(except the temp sensor was broken, so we had to sit in front of it...
