I put her BFF in the dog crate with her last night and they just chirped and coo'd away 🥰 this morning she got out of the crate with her and pecked around / ate a few bites on her own. Looking like she'll do fine, especially if I continue y'alls advice!
Her leg strength is equal bilaterally, she can walk but has spent most of the last 48 hours either roosting (inside dog crate) or sitting (grass or clean towel). Feet look good, no bumble issues. Floors / bedding is a Tarp with layer of pine shavings that I clean weekly. And I've also got a sh*t...
Yeah, she's a hefty lady for sure. I've got her crated and doing twice daily cleanings now. She's not really eating which concerns me but I'm giving her water with a syringe for today.
Have a 2 y/o Wyandotte Hen who I thought was eggbound as of yesterday. She was mopey, sitting in the grass and not very active. Brought her in / isolated her and started assessing / treating for being egg bound. She's had liquid bowel movements, more like cloudy water.
I was rubbing on her belly...
I've got a solid predator proof run & coop, with 6in hardware cloth no-dig barrier. No problems in 4 years, holds 20 hens. Lately there's been a BIG increase in mole tunnels around it. Yes, I know it's moles, NO my girls aren't interested in eating them, at least not enough to help. How on earth...
That was our line of thinking.....we did cull her today because she got pecked pretty good again ☹ I made she she had a few hours of snuggles and treats before we did it.
I'm assuming she got pecked. I saw her late at night and by the next morning around 11 that was done and she was acting a little stunned for a while. That's when we started putting her in the dog crate ate night with another pullet or two.
10 week old blind black sex link. Both eyes cloudy and She has no other neuro problems.. I don't think she was born this way but I'm not sure when/how it happened. She stays alone a lot of the time unless they're all feeding she'll be with the other girls. Sometimes she pecks around until she...
I've got a broody Wyandotte, no rooster. She has been broody for about 3+weeks and we've tried EVERYTHING to get her to stop, except buying or incubating babies. Now my 3 other girls have quit laying so we've had no eggs for over a week. Is that normal? My broody one has been separated for...
Yes I keep a large tupperware box under the sink and every few days I take it out to the run and dump it. Blueberries or almost any fruit, corn, sunflower seeds, a little spinach, coconut oil, egg shells, ground beef (freshly cooked scraps), carrots, chopped sweet potatoes, salmon skin....
I've got a 1 year old Wyandotte quarantined for 3 days so far, post coyote attack. Wound is clean/closed, she's eating/drinking and doing some walking around. Should I expect her to lay while in quarantine? It will be maybe 7-10 days before I slowly reintroduce her. Her vent is fine, making...
