If they're males then I'm not sure what I can do because there might be fights between the two, the breeder did say that if any turned out to be males he would replace them, but I'm sure I want to do that. Hmmm, if they are males then their names don't really suit them anymore, any ideas on...
Hi, I have a question, I have three 10 week old "chicks", and a think that two may be roosters (there is pictures). My breed is a barred rock white australorp cross, they are supposed to be sex-links, but I think Dreamer and Mystery may be roosters.
Recently Dreamer has been making a crowing...
Hi,
I have three barred rock chicks, they are two weeks old and have been inside for a week. They are adorable, but they smell. So I was wondering if they could be outside in a brooder. We have a covered spot ready that is rodent proofed, but will they be warm enough with their heat lamp? Thanks...
Hi,
I just recently (yesterday at a chick swap) got three adorable little chicks, barred rock-australorp cross one week old. So I asked for " a bag of medicated chick starter" at my feed store, were my exact words words, but when I got home I noticed that it was 20% protein. Is that too much...
Okay thanks for the advice about golf balls I'll try that, but if all else fails I could have eggs in a incubator because a chicken breeder close me rents space in their incubator but I would still rather a broody!
Hello everyone I am really wanting to hatch some eggs in this new year and I was planning to try to get my cuckoo maran to go broody but she passed away on New Year's Eve. I only have one other breed three Rhode Island Red, Plymouth Rock crosses which rarely ever go broody so... any ideas?
Hi, I just want to know what it takes to raise ducks and maybe (hopefully) a few facts about ducks, egglaying and any equipment they might need because sometime in the future have ducks to raise THANKS if you have any info
You might have to isolate the EE or the BLC for about two or three days in the crate NEAR (very important)the coop where the other chickens can see, her then when you reintroduce her it should all work out that was the case when I tried to introduce a new chicken into my little flock
Thanks for the info, the reason I asked is because sex-link chicken hybrids and some other serious daily laying hybrids only live to be about two a lot of the time
Hi, everyone just wondering if you have any info on if all chicken hybrids don't live as long as heritage chickens because I'm planning on a olive egger mix (Black copper maran and ameraucana mix) and I want to know if you knowThanks
Well Cuckoo and I think wheaten marans are suposed to lay lighter brown but you're right saying that most marans lay dark brown eggs and p.s I got her from swapping rooster for her so she could be a mix and also to verr67 I don't have any olive eggers but thanks for the idea
