Looking for 80 laying breed chicks in Ontario??? Not de-beaked, preferably no anti-biotics.

Have you considered ordering from Frey's? Depending on where you're located in Ontario, Performance Poultry might be a good option as well. They are a little more pricey than the other hatcheries in Ontario, and require pick up at their facility, but they have a much bigger selection.

Do D'uccle roosters have a dominant demeanor?

Depends, what traits would you consider dominate in a rooster? One that is aggressive towards people, or just a good protector? Or one that keeps all the hens in line? Regardless, I imagine it would depend on the individual bird's personality. I've had roosters from "friendly breeds" who turned...

Thanks! Good to know. Just out of curiosity, is it possible to tell the difference as chicks?

    D'uccle Thread

Thanks for the info! The reason I was asking was because I remember reading somewhere that breeding two Blue Mille Fleur together produced only 50% Blue Mille Fleur chicks, 25% Mille Fleur, and 25% Splash. I'm in Canada and am ordering from a local hatchery, Performance Poultry.

    D'uccle Thread

I am expecting my first D'uccles on April 28th/29th, and am so excited! My initial order was for 5 Mille Fleur, however the hatchery was already sold out of regular Mille, so I will be getting 5 Blue Mille Fleur instead. It's my understanding that the Blue Mille Fleur are pretty much the same...

That is tempting! However, I am in Canada. I'm assuming eggs can't be shipped internationally, can they?

    sebright thread

Thanks! and oooh lucky! Sebrights are nearly impossible to find around here. There is one local hatchery that sells them but I placed my order too late this year and they were sold out of all except the Buff variety, which I am not too fond of, so chose another breed instead. I'm so sorry for...

    sebright thread

Here's a couple pictures of one of my Silver Sebright roosters. I'm relatively new to the breed, just got two roosters as day olds a little less than a year ago and am loving them so far! They're such beautiful little birds, and pretty sweet too. I would really like to get into breeding them but...

Lets See Pictures of Your Performance Poultry Birds!

Hey everyone! I've been seeing quite a few different threads for sharing pictures of poultry bought from particular hatcheries and thought it might be fun for some of the Canadians on this forum to join in! I chose Performance Poultry since it has a large variety of ornamental birds compared...

Anyone Order Sebrights from Performance Poultry?

Or any other breeds even? I saw a similar post for uploading pictures of stock ordered from another Hatchery, thought it would nice for the Canadians on the forum to have a similar thread, that being said, does anyone have pictures of any birds they ordered from Performance Poultry?

Anyone Order Sebrights from Performance Poultry?

Hi everyone. I am thinking about placing an order with Performance Poultry in the next few days and I wanted to see if anyone has ever gotten any Sebrights from them in the past? Do you have any pictures? I just want to get any idea of what quality their Sebrights are before I place an order...

    Performance Poultry?

Thanks for your response. I will try e-mailing him and see what he says. I can understand having a minimum order for each type of chicks, but applying that to each breed and color seems a bit unreasonable. Maybe I can find someone who would be interested in doing a group order, otherwise I think...

    Performance Poultry Experiences??? Please!

Roada Red - It looks like you're located in the states, Performance Poultry is a Canadian hatchery, I don't think they they ship birds outside of Canada.

    Performance Poultry?

Hey everyone. I've been wanting to order from Performance Poultry for a couple of years now but kept missing ordering season by a couple of days. This year it seems like they've changed their policy and you're now required to order a minimum of 5 chicks per breed, and you can't mix and match...
