The answer all depends on what you mean by zombies and has a very different answer for each type. For the people that believe talking about zombies is childish (see 12 year old post) the term is often used as a metaphor for people that would attack (loot) your home in a natural disaster...
I might be game for joining in an egg co-op. I say might because we are new to this whole thing and I have no idea how many eggs we will have, and need for our own use. We have 8 chickens who may not even be laying this summer? They are only about 8 weeks old so that probably excludes us for the...
Chicks are 6-8 weeks old now and need a new bag of feed. They have been eating the chick crumbles. I went to the feed store and they sent me home with a bag if 16% lay mash. The guide to raising chickens say no lay mash until 18-20 weeks. Which one is right? They only sell chick starter and lay...

He is the best dog ever but he cannot be trusted near chickens (or anything else small and furry).
Here it is in PDF form, the new Salt Lake County Ordinance as it was adopted April 28, 2010. I am not sure if anyone posted this link yet but the OLD ordinance is still what pulls up on their site, they just have a link to this new PDF.

I am no expert by far but there is a topic in the FAQ's about it. I use flickr and just post the link, if you have an account like flickr it is easy but look at the FAQ topic and it tells you how to post it to the site then you can link it.
We have 8 chicks from 4 1/2 weeks to 6 weeks old. They are in our storage room which keeps a constant 60 degrees or so. Do they need the light on 24 hours a day? Is 60 degrees warm enough for them at night? They are also getting big, how much room should they each have in the box? I know what...
NurseDr, I think the seasons are shifting. Sounds strange but my wife works for a ski resort so we pay close attention. It seems that every year winter comes later and lasts longer into the spring. As for me, I love the late season big snow days up at The 'Bird.
Too bad my two favorites are local to my area only. If you ever get a chance try Hop Rising double IPA be careful it's 9%. Or Davastator double bock at 8%. Utah local beers, with a punch.
The wind was terrible, now the snow. No garden outside in SLC yet or it would have been a total loss! We did turn the old crummy dirt bed behind our place into a raised bed garden this week. The neighborhood cats will be mad because it seemed to be their favorite place to do their business.
I have several 4 to 5 week old chicks that have been outside a couple of times. When they are outside they are in the sunshine on a calm day with temps at 65-70 degrees. Yesterday they started to sneeze, all 5 of them. They do not sneeze when they are inside, and they were only outside for 30...
