Hi,
I was wondering if you could clear something up for me
I thought i read somewhere on this board that when introducing new chickens you should let them stay in the coop for a certain amount of time so they get used to their new home
My pullets are not going to be able to free range...
Thank you so much for all the help. I really appreciate it!!
I am actually right off of commercial st (Idlewell area) on the Fore River.....we are directly across from the Braintree Yaht club. We have Osprey that nest in the high tension wires and a few other birds......long legged ones...
Omran.......Another question did you sink it at all or is it just sitting flush on the ground with an apron? cant tell what the floor is either is it sand?
thanks!

I have never taken care of chicks before, is it difficult? do you keep them in the house? and for how long? are they tamer when raised from chicks? is it expensive to set up...
I am definitely going to have the top covered but if I do the floor in hard wire also and then put a thick layer of sand on that...do I still have to sink it 1-8 inches?
thanks~k

these are great! I also took a looksy at the link and there were some creative ones there also!!
My son thinks we should call it "The Omelet House"
I like...The Chick Inn and Eggtopia
and my husband likes "The Clucking Coop"
Keep em coming, hopefully my family can agree...
Hi everyone,
I am readying a 8x8 shed to house about 6 hens. We are doing well with that so far but I am concerned about our run.
I will not be able to allow free range as I am on the water and have no fence across the water part of my property and other animals can get in from there also.
I...
