Hens go broody when you don’t want them to… and won’t go broody when you do. 
DH (who grew up without pets because "animals are dirty") 5 horses, 1 Australian Shepherd, 1 African Grey Parrot, 2 parakeets. Just planted a wildflower meadow so that next year it can be home to honeybees.
