Ha. Looked out with flashlight after dark last night to check the hen-house from our second story bedroom, and saw a rat inside the run stealing food. Today will be his last day on this earth ...

Since July we've had 475 eggs, in the boxes, but about six in the run or the yard where they range about 2hrs before sundown. Yesterday I saw some activity and found a "hidden nest" in the bushes. Four eggs and some fragments of a fifth. Locking them up for a week to re-educate. I go out to do the evening feed and they want OUT! I guess it's like being a parent all over again, eh?
