  • If he proves to be a trustworthy roo, T.Roo's staying. We don't have any Lavender Orpington hens (he was intended to be a pullet, but the hatchery made a mistake), but we have a beautiful Buff Orp girl in our flock. As a matter of fact, T.Roo has 28 chooks of all breeds to chose from on our mini-farm. It sounds like you have quite a few breeds yourself! I adore your ducks, by the way.

Hi, Adorkable! In response to your questions, yes, T.Roo is a Lavender Orpington. Actually, I don't have any experience with roos in general, as we rehomed our first two accidental EE boys. So far, T.Roo has been pretty good in his 14 weeks of life, but that remains to be seen.

Ikr! lol! I guess rabbits ears are like chickens' wattles--they regulate the body temperature, so if you put something cold on their ears, it cools them down.
Yeah, that can be a problem with rabbits. They are a lot of ways to keep rabbits cool in the summer though (putting wet, cold socks on their ears, being in the shade, etc.). :)
