Hens go broody when you don’t want them to… and won’t go broody when you do. 
Well at 17 weeks, my Silkie, Eleanor began crowing!! a bit loud in a.m. Living in the burbs but really not allowed to have roosters! Neighbors know about our 3 chicks, but no one has said anything yet about the noise. I may re home. It's so mean to stop them from crowing, seeing all the posts, he's happy and crowing because of it. Eleanor has now been adjusted to "Elliott"!!
