I have a whiff of spring but no summer..

I smell it!! And hear it! I have this favorite bird, it’s black with some red on it’s wings and it makes a noise that says summer. When it’s stifling hot and I’m sitting among the ripply grass (which is 3 ft high) this black bird comes along and makes it’s noise and for some reason it makes me very happy. I’ve been hearing it so I know spring and summer are coming!
