    Okay, so I put a tarp, tarpaulin canvas, on the chicken coop tonight. It's supposed to be cold under 40. Anyway, they will be fine!

    Okay, so the tarpaulin has been good for the cold days and nights. It worked well and I secured with more rope to keep winds from blowing it around.

    Give too many eggs to a brooding hen, it stops her?

    This Buff O was brooding again this spring. I set 12 fertilized eggs under and she stopped brooding. Has anyone ever experienced this? Last time she hatched out six eggs. I wonder if the number of eggs overwhelmed her and she stopped brooding because of it. What do you think?

    Well, I guess no one had any thoughts on this topic. I do think it really helped her stop brooding. I suppose you could do the same thing with fake eggs, porcelan or otherwise.
