Hens go broody when you don’t want them to… and won’t go broody when you do. 
MY HEN JUST HATCHED ALL 7 EGGS, HER VERY FIRST BATCH IN LESS THAN 24 HOURS ON DAY 18. THEY ARE PERFECT!

too worried...power outage had all my 9 fertile 8 day old eggs out of incubator power. They're still moving, but I don't know what the outcome of the hatch would be. the temperature was 88 f. when the power came on. Boo Hoo. any feedback?
silkie hens started laying two weeks ago, but wouldn't sit on them, so were attempting to hatch the first 9 in an incubator. But I loved the idea of sneaking in at night and laying them on top of the eggs to encourage broodiness. Power went out for 2.5 hours on day 2, hoping it didn't mess up the process. more to come...
