Pros: Fun to watch, easy to care for, great mothers
Cons: Very messy, prone to hawk attacks
It is fun to watch the pigeons fly around. Although hawks are of concern. I have seen the pigeons outfly a hawk, but sometimes a hawk wins the battle. They are very messy - much messier than chickens. They have a great mothering ability.

Pros: Don't need much space
Cons: Very aggressive chicks, not hardy
We used to raise bowhites. They are brutal to each other as chicks. They also are not very hardy. We still have a pair as pets- the female is handicapped. We definitely won't be raising any more.
