Right at 4 weeks. She's sitting on them right now (630am 58dF) she barely calls them for insects/scratching, I know they can wean at 4 it's just different this time round as last few times she had 8week olds under her in coop lol They'll be chirping their heads off and she's just lolly gagging...

Story of our raising and hatching own to process of mixed flock

Yay yay yay yay! Hubby said I could get a bigger incubator so we can hatch bigger batches instead of little batches. I was thinking of getting a second Kebonnixs or a maticoopx30. Price is huge difference but not sure if I have place to put another incubator. Hmm... Choices choices lol

Woohoo! Mama is going broody again! Yay!

A rare moment of her sitting with them. Since we let them out she pretty much wanders while they do too and not together lol definitely different from her other groups lol

what brand and kind of incubator is best?

i believe the house humidity effects the incubators humidity as well. a good reason to get a hygrometer to check too. our humidity where our incubator is is around 30-40%, and inside stays 40-50 without assistance, THAT is using my calibrated govee too. I think last reading it was about 3-5 off.

what brand and kind of incubator is best?

i second the Kebonnixs, love it! have one and have used it several times with nearly 100% sucess rate- did use a Govee with it. the first hatch I didn't and still hatched 75% but part of that was egg issues. I am looking at the Maticoopx 30 Egg for higher number. Hubby said I could get a bigger...

Woohoo! Mama is going broody again! Yay!

Their combs are showing lol 4 weeks old. Things have't panned out or else they'd be running free but they have bigger area. We think the dark egger hen in extra photo is the mom of the black one as she's the only one dark enough, and lays the right color egg it came from lol

Story of our raising and hatching own to process of mixed flock

Got them moved over last night. We handed them through the open panel lol Need to get a tarp for the partial side to tuck under other tarp but it's good for now. Gonna get some black paint for the far side since only door is inside main coop

6 weeks. The white one has some neat leakage, his mom has the gray to her. We seem to have an egger with a single comb coming through -- neither parent has single comb lol

Will vacuum noise harm 4 week old chicks?

We vacuum daily since hatch. Also have dogs barking, kids running around. They scatter and hide under brooder plate, but we make all kinds of noise and haven't had any issues yet. Even mowing outside doesn't seem to effect the adult girls, the newest ones scatter but the big girls don't care...
