what brand and kind of incubator is best?

what is pipping?
Two types one is internal pip meaning the chick has broken through the inner membrane to the air cell. That's the first time they'll breath air. Second is external pip. They made a crack in the shell of the egg. They can stay that way for while day or more before they begin to zipper and hatch.

I recommend you get googling. Learn about this before you do it.

Read websites about how to incubate.

Watch videos.

Or, if you want to ^^^^^ at the top of this website is a link that says "search forums" and you can find Articles written by experts here about incubation.

Hell, I think there is a sticky post at the top of this forum.

It will answer all your questions and get you better prepared.

i second the Kebonnixs, love it! have one and have used it several times with nearly 100% sucess rate- did use a Govee with it. the first hatch I didn't and still hatched 75% but part of that was egg issues.

I am looking at the Maticoopx 30 Egg for higher number. Hubby said I could get a bigger incubator for our meat birds so we dont have to have several hatches of 5-12 floating around lol

I can't even keep track of how many different brand incubators I have right now let alone ones I've used in the past.
Several have had good/great hatches but my hands down favorite is the MaticoopX 30. If you can live with smaller they now have the MaticoopX 20 which is even more affordable.
The 30 is $127.99 on Amazon. The 20 is $84.99. That's prices at the moment.

Kebonnix incubators are AWESOME! Their super reliable and I've gotten near 100% hatch rates every time I've used one! I also bought a quail egg Turner for it on ebay so now I can hatch chickens and quail and it's been great! It's like a Nature Right 360 but wayyyyyy cheaper and it works just as well if not better!
Mine has humidity that is like 8 degrees low! So that would be something to consider but other than that it’s pretty good!

i believe the house humidity effects the incubators humidity as well. a good reason to get a hygrometer to check too. our humidity where our incubator is is around 30-40%, and inside stays 40-50 without assistance, THAT is using my calibrated govee too. I think last reading it was about 3-5 off.
