So recently our chickens got attacked by what we guess was a hawk but we are not really sure. Almost all of our birds died but
We managed to save one of them, but she is badly injured. She has some scratches on her back and I was just wondering what I should do to get it to heal. I have been...
As I looked at the 2 turkeys one of them had this. There was no other injuries on the chicks and only one of them had this. Can anyone tell me what this is and how to avoid it?
Hello everyone! Yesterday I have bought turkey chicks, this morning when I went in to check on them 2 of them were dead. All of the chicks were perfectly healthy, they were eating and drinking. I heard that to much heat or to little can kill chicks as well, I did angle the heat lamp so wasn’t to...
They are nesting boxes that are slanted on the bottom so when a hen lays an egg it rolls away from them so they can’t eat them. You can order them online they work really well.
Hey everyone! Have been all good here, thanks for checking in. I have no birds at the moment, we lost all of our chickens to some predator all in the night in November. Here we’re probably not going to get any chickens for awhile until we rebuild and predator proof our chicken coop.
There is no smell, she was eating and drinking a few days ago but stopped. She looks like she is in a lot of pain so I might just put her down. I’ll keep you updated if anything changes.
I wanted to post an update, so the wounds all cleared up and it looked like she was getting better and started moving a lot more until yesterday she started getting worse again. She can’t seem to stand up for some reason, and she can’t seem to make any noise. She did start to drink a couple days...
a hawk attacked today and killed almost all of my chickens. One is not dead but has been brutally injured around her neck I don’t know what to do please help!
She is trying to poop but not much is coming out. I have separated her from the rest of the chicks, should I keep food and water with her? How much honey should I apply and how often?
Got it cleaned a little more, she was in with the other chicks last night since I didn’t know she had a prolapse and I think some of the chicks pecked at it a little. There is no major cuts, so she’s not bleeding anywhere.
