    North Carolina

Fuzzi - I think it's gone up a bit! This is yesterday eve @ 7:33 pm. It reflects the index heat, as hubs changed the setting. But pretty sure 124° is the highest yet, LOL. I am ready for the extremes to stop!

What's your favorite horse breed(s), and why? 😁

WOW, look at the "little" tank is built!! About how large/tall do these trotters get in your country. Nothing like ours... Though more pacers & trotters here are heavier built than the thoroughbreds.

    Shredded printer paper for bedding

I'll chip in here. Our old shredder, used from 2013 to 2023 for bedding (had shredder long before that). I dont have pics until 2016... The shred was short, narrow pieces. It was a Staples brand, 15 sheet shredder. I found it didn't work as well in nesting boxes. The shred stuck to the...

I haven't seen it. Will look for it. Did they use Connemarras to "play" his part?

What's your favorite horse breed(s), and why? 😁

I "went against the grain" w/ both Shetlands & Arabians. It was constant - from the open shows here in NC to even breed shows with both breeds. It always seemed we were facing "flack". But you are right. I did enjoy the equine we owned, brought our 3 girls up riding & have tons of memories...

    Horses!

WOW! What a story! I looked him up. I probably heard of him through the many magazines I either received or studied from libraries or book stores when I could. He was born the year I graduated High School & started his eventing career just a 18 months before our "new" family of 4 returned...

    Horses!

Ask you daughter if she knew or knew of "Wynn" (can't remember her last name anymore). She bred a warmblood pony, "Teddy", that was slated for Olympics. A pasture/barn accident took his life before competition. Here are 2 pics of Wynn riding & evaluating 2 of our 1/2 Arab ponies. She was...

The same as BigBlueHen, I no longer have equine. I have lots of gear & hope to have ponies again some day... Thanks for inviting. I did just get my oldest website restarted... it was last updated in Nov 2020 & our last 2 old mares passed in Dec 2023. www.lppaintedponys.com

What's your favorite horse breed(s), and why? 😁

I haven't been able to ride since 2012, when not one but both hips started locking. Ive learned much since then. I have become a little more flexible but haven't had a chance to experiment. If I could try, id like a gaited horse, maybe mixed w/ draft. To have substance & frame to carry my...

    Aging of chicken poop question

Another way, in existing beds, could be to open up the bed by moving your top layer of mulch & growing medium. Pull all that towards the outside wall s of the bed. Digging down about a foot, then add your buckets of not composted chicken manure & spread it out. Then cover it back up with your...

Using Shredded Paper for Coop Litter - As Good As Wood Chips?

Well id been not getting most receipts by getting via text, email or just registering from bank statements what is what. Now, the ones I do get will be going into trash instead of shred.

Using Shredded Paper for Coop Litter - As Good As Wood Chips?

I agree it can be work. Like when I use the little weaving loom, crochet or embroider, I can part out cardboard while watching TV. I just turn volume up 2 or 3 notches. I listen to Pandora on my phone while running the shredder OR can use headphones & watch YouTube vids whle shredding. I'm...
