WOW, look at the "little" tank is built!! About how large/tall do these trotters get in your country.

Nothing like ours... Though more pacers & trotters here are heavier built than the thoroughbreds.

I grew up around Standardbreds, Quarters, and Thorobreds. All great horses, but for an all purpose rugged breed under saddle or harness, Standardbreds are one of my favorite.

They are gorgeous! Common in Finland and Norway as well. I'd say they stand between 150cm to 165cm, anything above that is a very large/too large horse. My first mare was 148.
I'm not sure if you guys measure in hands or inches?

Standardbreds are amazing too and a very common horse in Sweden - harness racing is Huge there as our largest race of the year is part of the Triple Crown. Trotting only, not so much pacing. The warmbloods (standardbreds) and cold bloods are raced separately though.

Beautiful! is this what they used to call a StandardBred? my first gaited horse was a StandardBred, picked him up at the GoldStream Harness race track $800.00 with a saddle! they had retired him, he was 8 years old, did ok in the races, top lip was tattooed "inside" his mouth, was sired at a race farm in upstate new york, he was good under saddle, always did the "rack, pace", even though I'd put him behind all the other horses in a group riding setting. he'd be up ahead of all them in no time. he passed on at 35, best horse I ever had, he and I were 1, couldnt find that connection and bond with any other horse, RIP Appollo. my Avatar is a picture of my Tennessee Walker mare (and grand daughter) has all the gaits of a TW, she is bossy, moody, and feisty at times, she's a rescue horse, had her sometime now, she's 25 and still going strong

No, the standardbred is a warmblooded horse, the coldblooded trotter is as the name says, a coldblooded horse bred for harness racing. They originate from the North Swedish draft horse and the Norwegian Dølahest.

Both breeds are spectacular I think! but I like my coldbloods best.

The standardbred, by the way, is simply called "warm blooded trottinghorse" in Swedish. We are very literal people!

ok this side by side comparison helps me see the marked difference between them, i see the thorobred influence in Kronos, my Apollo had that conformation dark bay color, 3 white socks, star and a snip, i see the cobb influence in the cold blooded trotter, stunning horse i agree.

There is no cob in them though, they originate from a native Swedish breed. But I see what you mean!

I love Ruben! I had a rooster named Rubin (short for Rubinstein, like the famous Oldenburg stallion).

My family comes from Halland, Sverige! I've tried learning Swedish, it's been a slow process LOL!
