One more in the incubator, zipping slowly. If it hatches successfully I will add it to the brooder tonight.
"Back OFF, Mister!"
Safe in their brooder, the same one Rahab used last year.
Addendum: I created that brooder last year after one of the flock pecked and almost killed Zaccheus as a one day old chick. I later saw Samuel trying to kill chicks, and he was removed from the gene pool, permanently. ⚰️
Friday Morning
Chick #6 is slowly zipping. I would help but would probably injure it, so hands off. The two unhatched eggs show no sign of hatching, but I will let them be for today.

When I went out a second time, Rahab was off the nest...
The two incubator chicks have been placed underneath Rahab, no issues. I removed her unhatched egg, brought it inside and added it to the incubator. Pipped chick made noise when I moved its egg slightly. Hope it hatches.
:fl
Five hatched chicks so far.
I put 8 eggs in the incubator 3 weeks ago. Rahab went broody about 2 weeks ago, so I moved 4 underneath her about a week ago.
She won't let me check for #4!
In the incubator I have 2 hatched chicks, and one that's pipped. I'll move the 2 over to Rahab after dark.
:fl
I saw three in the box with Rahab, but she won't let me check for a 4th, she pecked me hard!
There's two in the incubator with another pipping.
It never gets old, does it?

I used to store my BOSS outside in a metal trash can. I never had mold, but one year fire ants built a nest in it. I had to dump it all. $$
I keep my birdseed in a shed that is up on blocks, using the same type of can. I've had no insect or mold issues.
